The first thing people say when I mention I am a reflexologist is either, 'I hate my feet' or 'I love my feet being massaged'. It is true that Reflexology is very therapeutic and relaxing, much like a massage, however it is much more than that to. Here I will explain a little more about what Reflexology is and its many benefits to overall wellbeing.
Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive complementary therapy. The main aim is to restore balance within the body, thus improving overall wellbeing.

Our feet mirror our bodies, all systems (digestive, reproductive, respiratory, circulatory and lymphatic) and the organs associated within each system have corresponding reflex points on the feet. By using our thumbs and fingers we can work over each of these points, this will help the body's natural healing process by removing any blocked energy in the area, which in turn enables the body to work more effectively.

It is important to note that although Reflexology does have huge benefits (see below) it can not diagnose or directly treat any condition, it does however support your body to help it start healing itself naturally, which will help ease any associated symptoms you may be experiencing.
Benefits to reflexology include the following:
Improves the blood circulation around the body, which allows the blood to get to where it needs to be for healing and to lower blood pressure.
Neutralises and prevents the effects of stress on the body, by balancing the adrenal's to lower adrenaline levels.
Improves lymphatic flow around the body which in turn helps to eliminate harmful toxins.
Boots the immune system
Creates an anti inflammatory response.
Clients turn to reflexology for many different reasons. I first tried reflexology to help balance my hormones after experiencing multiple miscarriages. For me it was a time to relax and reconnect, it made me feel like I was actively doing something to help my body heal and work more effectively.
By having a balanced body our quality of life can improve, what's not to like about that😊.
